People seems to debate a lot and get confused about what The Eight is, what it isn't, and what it should be.
One of the first comments I've received about it was from a friend telling me I couldn't do a vampire story in a cute funny manga graphic style. He talked about how Hellsing was THE reference in manga vampire story, and how that would be hard to beat.
My response to that: I've never read Hellsing, and even if I did, my goal is not to try to beat it. In only have one goal: I have a story to tell, and The Eight is it.
Some are confused about what kind of story The Eight is. Is it supposed to be a comedy ? If so, why all the drama ? Is it supposed to be a drama ? If so, why all the comedy ?
My response to that: I never planned to file The Eight under a particular style. Real life is full of drama, comedy and moments when nothing is happening. So is The Eight.
Some people seems to have problems sorting out the good guys from the bad guys, especially Katia.
My response to that: In real life, no one is 100% good, and 100% bad. Why should people get filed in these 2 categories in my comic ? The same goes for Katia. She has good sides, she has bad sides, she was a victim, and she can be the agressor.
Finally, I've received comments about the lack of real action, battles, stuff like that, like one should expect from a vampire story.
My response to that: Hey, this is just chapter 3. You'll get all the action you crave in chapter 5. Be patient.
EDIT: I guess what I am trying to say here is: Either love or hate The Eight, do it for what it is, and not for what it isn't.

So, it's a story in general. Does that sound about right?

A story? That's a revolutionary concept. You mean, we don't need to use clichés??? I didn't know that.

BTW Steve, I already showed you one of the Hellsing manga's and you told me you weren't interrested on reading it cuz it didn't seem interresting and you didn't like the graphics at all.
On the other hand, Brian the mortician is Hugely inspired by priest Anderson's maniac faces..
