Yeah, after almost 6 months of inactivity, The Eight will be back in December. I cannot give you a more precise date, but December 2005 it is for sure.

Ok, let's see what went wrong here:

June: I took a leave of absence to visit my kids
July: I had my kids at my place for summer. Tried to draw AND watch them. Couldn't.
August: Web host gone bankrupt. Impossible for me to make any modification to the webpage. 1/3 of webpage disappeared.
September: Injured my right hand while helping my ex to move. Had to wear a contraption to immobilise it for 3 weeks.
October: Onlinecomics.net erased my account because it was inactive. Kind of lost the interest for webcomics. Pursued a more lucrative book project.
November: The company who bought my ex web host's stuff completed the erasure of my webpage. Mazoku-Chan along with a few dozen readers are putting pressure on me in order not to let The Eight die. My interest in webcomic, which was just laying dormant, is now fully awake again.

My usual strike of luck strikes again.

November 14, I took my laptop back to the store for repairs. Because yeah, it failed after only 2 months. Today, 2 weeks later, it came back, saying all the guarantees I paid for don't cover that kind of problem, and I have to contact the company which made it. Then I'll have to send it to their closest repair shop, which is about 300 miles from here. With the size, and especially the weight of that thing, I'm afraid to guess how much that shipping will cost me.

AND I have to make a decision fast, because 3 weeks from now, the repair shop will close for the Hollidays, then they'll be very much busy with all of the merchandise that will be sent back by unsatisfied consumers, I probably won't get my laptop back 'til february.

...and will it be fixed, or will I get fed some more bullshit about that problem not being covered by the guarantee ? I wonder!

My roommate is sure the problem can be fixed if I wipe the laptop clean and reinstall everything. Problem is, the laptop cannot "find" the built-in CD player, hence it is impossible to reinstall.
