It was only a week ago, today, that I created a webcomic page for The Eight on Geocities. Since I already have another webcomic on Geocities since mid-november 2003 and I never had trouble with it Artiztech College, I never would have expected the response I've been having so far for The Eight.
And what a response it was: I had to transfer my webcomic at my own domain two days ago because for every ten minutes you could browse through the strips, Geocities would shut my site down for a whole hour for bandwith excess.
As I write this, my webcounter marks 962 visitors so far. The way it goes, I'll have my one thousandth visit before dinner. It took me months to receive that much for Artiztech College. I can never thank enough John from The Lounge ror the 3/4 of the visits I receive come from there, and also Josh from OnlineComics.net who believed so much in my storyline from the few pages he saw here, that he listed The Eight even though it was 4 pages short of the minimum 10 required to be accepted. Also, thanks to Obsessed Fan for the thread she made on the Moonlit Nights forum, which brought a fair share of visits too.
It is hard for me to stay modest, for modesty was never my forte, hence I believe that for the very first time since I've been doing comics professionally that I have created something with potential. This is giving me motivations enough to give to you as much as I can about The Eight: Art, characters biographies, and so on. So, for the next couple of days, I'll be working on this webpage as much as I can.
Thanks again.

You know, I must really thank you readers for your
patience. I know what a pain it is when a new webcomic starts and you want to know more about the characters and the plot, and it is building very slowly, especially when, like The Eight, it is a continuing story. Rest assured that I'm as much impatientas you to get further into the storyline. I still have 5 more important players to get into the game before the action really starts (and the cute sexy vampire reappears . Just so you'll have some guideline to what to expect for the next mondays and tuesdays, here's a little characters guide:
So far, you met:
Katia : Cute and deadly vampire girl.
Michael: Katia's fist victim. To the end, he never had any luck with girls.
Jason: The main character.
Miroku: Jason's sex-maniac best friend.
Eau Bénite: Jason's uncle, the town's priest.
Rob-o-cop Robert the policeman.
You have yet to meet:
Brian: The town's mortician and sometimes coroner. In a town this small lost in the middle of nowhere with a very low crime rate, there's no real need for 2 guys doing these jobs.
Joey: One of the town counselor.
Tristan and Alexei : dark and moody boy + a very much feminine-looking flamboyant boy. Two of Jason and Miroku's friends.
Isabelle: Cute would-be witch with a huge desire to make Jason her personnal love monkey. Also known as Isabitch because... well, she is a bitch, and a freaky one at that !
And last but not least: The Eight. All I can say for now is... They're a group of eight individuals.
Another reason why I can't wait to get done with this storyline is because I already have complete biographies about the characters, but I can't show them here yet, for they are filled with spoilers. So, for the time being, I'll just give you these small characters ID cards:
Just to warn you in advance: Some time within the next 2 weeks I will not be able to update with a page from The Eight, but you'll get 2 pages at once instead, showing how The Eight is made. I.E: how Mazoku-Chan and I work together and how each page is done, depicted step by step. This time, it is Mazoku-Chan herself who'll do the art, inks and colours (If
I twist her arm hard enough). She already does the art of the characters' ID cards.
Any feedback is welcome, either here or at requin@hotmail.com.
